Christmas Biscuits: Make at Home

Christmas is nearly here! Everyone enjoys a biscuit sweet or savoury so why not get your festive cutters out and make a lovely treat or perfect present with your children.



Ingredients Needed:

6oz Marg

4oz Sugar

9oz Plain Flour

Optional add:

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon for a festive taste

5oz Grated cheese omitting the sugar for a savoury biscuit and a teaspoon. cayenne pepper if you want a zing for the grownups.


Method to bake:

1. Preheat oven gas 5/190c and grease or line a baking tray with greaseproof paper

2. Rub marg. into flour and sugar, knead into a ball

3. Roll out to 1 cm thick on a slightly floured surface and cut out with a cutter, place on the baking tray. Re-roll the trimmings

4. Bake 10-15 mins till golden.


Icing for sweet biscuits


Ingredients:

12oz icing sugar,

3-4 tablespoon water

2-3 drops food colouring, edible glitter, sprinkles, icing pens


Method: Mix the icing sugar with water and colouring to create a thick mixture, spread evenly on cooled biscuits and decorate.
