Toddler Room at Charlestown Day Nursery

The aim of the toddler room concentrates on the basics of learning through play.

We plan and prepare all play equipment and activities on a daily basis.

As an example, children playing with bricks would promote skills such as construction and building, fine motor development, colour and counting.  There are activities during the day in which we lay the foundations to encourage and promote skills which include hand/eye co-ordination, manipulative skills, sharing, caring, co-operating and self confidence, language and creativity.

Social and self help skills are encouraged and incorporated throughout the day and these include toilet training, meal times and general socialising with peers and carers.

We work in partnership with parents and aim to provide a well balanced, interesting and fun programme to ensure the children have a positive outlook towards themselves and to learning.
