Holiday club is a great way for school age children to build positive relationships with their peers and Practitioners. Holiday club room is specifically for children aged 4-10 years. The aim of our holiday club is to have fun and be happy in a relaxed environment. Children can choose from a variety of activities such as creative play using a variety of materials, computers, role play, table tennis, pool, air hockey and of course we have lots of different toys all age appropriate such as lego, machano, Barbie dolls, remote control cars.
Outdoor play is big on our agenda and with our Holiday club play area consisting of a large Astro turf private area with basketball net, football net, swing ball, large connect 4 and a box full of sporting equipment such as Hockey, hoola hoops, tennis balls, bean bags, bowling, skipping ropes etc.
Planning for the holiday club is done by our very experienced Holiday club coordinator, working with the children’s interests, and letting them decide what activities they want for the week. There is lots of opportunity to play group games and individual activities. Children will always be included and can choose their own level of involvement. There is a quiet area with books and a DVD player for relaxation and calming activities. We have holiday club rules where the children decide what goes on the rules wall this encourages the children to think about their actions and take pride in being a positive member of our club.
Displays around our holiday club have been chosen and drawn by our children giving children the opportunity to express themselves through art using a variety of materials. 2022 Summer Holiday club theme has been Superhero’s and robots, if that changes then the walls change too.
There is no homework at holiday club only to bring a smile and a riddle/joke for us all to share each day.
